Unit 1: Understanding the Prevent Duty

This unit will introduce you to the Prevent duty which is part of the governments counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST. You will be introduced to key terms such as terrorism, extremism and radicalisation. This unit will explore who needs to comply with the Prevent duty and what the roles and responsibilities of different organisations are.

Unit 2: Understanding Safeguarding

The unit will introduce the term safeguarding and look at both local and national safeguarding procedures to safeguard and protect. You will learn about the different types of abuse and the key signs, your role with safeguarding and how to follow procedures, to keep individuals safe if an allegation of abuse is suspected or disclosed.

Unit 3: Online Safety

Within this unit you will learn about different types of inappropriate and illegal online activity and about potential consequences such as terror-related grooming. You will look at risks of using the internet and how to reduce these to keep safe. Lastly, you will learn about behavioural changes and signs that could cause concern and where to seek advice.
